Manila
Our trip started in Manila where we stayed for 3 days. For me, Manila is the frendliest city in South East Asia. Of course, you'll get the traffic jams, poor air quality and some beggars. But the people are so friendly and open that you forget about that very fast. Once, on our way to the Chinese Cementary, we lost our way and ended up in a very poor neighbourhood. At first I was a bit scared because everybody tells you that these parts are not safe. But we were greeted by cheers and helo's and not a single angry or aggressive face was to be seen! Maybe we were just lucky, maybe it was because we didn't walk like kings...
Puerto Princesa
The contrast was extreme: From Manila in less than an hour to Puerto Princesa. From the big screaming city to a quiet, laid back town. We stayed at the Marina de Bay resort which is quite outside of Puerto Princesa.
